5.3.1.1 Direct N2O from grazing

The direct N₂O-N emissions are calculated according to IPCC(2006)-11.6 ff The emissions of NO are assessed accordingly. In both cases the methodology is a Tier 1 methodology.

The following emission factors are used for N₂O-N (IPCC(2019)-11.13, Table 11.1):

• EF_{N2O-N, graz, 1} = 0.006 kg N₂O-N (kg N)^-1
• EF_{N2O-N, graz, 2} = 0.003 kg N₂O-N (kg N)^-1

The grazing emissions of deer and ostrich are calculated with EF_{N2O-N, graz, 2}.
